That’s completely normal. Most of us don’t. I shoot on film, which means no constant clicking and no rush. The process is slower, quieter, with plenty of space for breaks. I’ll gently guide you when it helps, but I’m also tuned in: if you feel like chatting about our kids, we’ll do that; if you’d rather have some quiet, I’ll match your pace.

This isn’t about creating a perfect picture. It’s about giving you space to show up as you are.

I love sessions at home because this is where we create the most personal images. I’ve made beautiful photographs in narrow kitchens, messy living rooms and bedrooms with piles of laundry. We don’t need to photograph every corner of your house. We will shoot in places that feel the nicest and where you like to hang out. Imperfect and all, this is your home and your kids will value these memories when they grow up.

And if you really don’t feel like it, we’ll find a meaningful location outside.

Most hesitant partners I worked with didn’t like the idea of having to pose for the camera. With my documentary-style approached inspired by the real life you live, they usually relax and later say that “it’s actually wasn’t that bad”;)

But if your partner really isn’t into the idea, it shouldn’t stop you from capturing your memories. A mother and kids session can also be very beautiful.

This is the beauty of shooting film. With only a few frames to take, even an hour long session feels slow and intentional. We will talk beforehand and make sure we focus on things that matter to you most.

That said, a session like that is best for maternity portraits, moments with your baby or to capture one family activity or ritual. To avoid feeling rushed, we won’t have time to shoot both at home and outside, or photograph many different things you like to do together.

From the outside, not much changes. You don’t have to do anything differently, and you’ll still receive your images as high-resolution digital files.

But the energy of the session is different. Because I shoot slowly and intentionally, I am able to be more present — and it often helps you feel more grounded, too.

One thing that matters more with film is light. Film needs lots of light, so we’ll plan your session for the time of day when the light is best in your home — especially important on grey Berlin days.

You don’t need to worry about the technical side — that’s on me. All you need to do is show up, and I’ll take care of the rest.
